In each of the game’s three-dimensional zones, you’ll need to use Ace’s skills to negotiate a series of different levels, and use his weapons to defeat a variety of henchmen, from crazy clowns to ghost town zombies, before meeting Lord Fear’s gang of “zone bosses”, which include the BBC TV series’ characters Lady Illusion, Pigface, Googler and Dirty Rat.

A prologue at the start of the game describes Lord Fear escaping from prison in the Sixth Dimension and stealing the Amulet, but is stopped by Ace and the following fight results in the shattering of the Amulet.

Both individuals find a single piece of the Amulet and take their fight to the Carnival of Doom to collect more pieces. The Game Boy Advance version is a simple side-scroller platform game where a player controls Ace and moves him around the carnival’s attractions.

At the end of each level is a piece of the Amulet and a boss battle against an antagonist suited to the environment. The levels are based on attractions that are usually seen in an amusement park of small funfair e. The player can be ambushed by the enemies whilst navigating their way around the carnival, leading to miniature boss battles.

This third-person action-adventure game lets you guide the foremost of the Lightning Knights, Ace Lightning, on his mission to defeat the evil Lord Fear and send him and his gang back to prison in the sixth dimension. The only way to capture Lord Fear is to collect all the pieces of the magical Amulet of Zoar, which he has hidden throughout the Carnival of Doom–a scary place full of exaggeratedly imposing tents, rides and sideshows, with distorted geometry and disturbing lighting effects.
